The latest Samsung Galaxy S24 leaks hint at improved low-light photos and AI tricks

Not a day currently goes by where we don't hear a new rumor about the Samsung Galaxy S24 phones – which is perhaps unsurprising given that their expected launch date is fast approaching – and the latest leaks offer a few more hints about the possibilities for making of photos of these handsets.

According to known tipster Ice universe (through SamMobile), the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra gets a number of important upgrades. First, they say the night mode is “better” than on the Galaxy S23 Ultra that came before it.

Secondly, there will apparently be a new and improved 200MP camera mode that uses “AI optimization”, and will be able to spot 12 different types of objects (like people or flowers, we assume) and the camera settings automatically adjust accordingly. .

As you know from our Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra review, that phone also had a 200-megapixel main camera, but the 24 Ultra is expected to feature a new and improved version capable of some new tricks.

Even more AI

Also on the AI front, leak Bennett Bruhner (again via SamMobile) says the Galaxy S24 series will feature some clever AI tricks for videos: these tricks will apparently reduce the graininess of clips, improve stabilization, and even let you select something in a clip to erase it.

The same source also says there may be an AI chatbot on the device, but it's “not certain” if it will be available at launch. Think of ChatGPT or Google Bard, which can generate text and answer all kinds of questions.

This all ties in with what we've heard before about Samsung wanting to give the Galaxy S24 phones as many AI features as possible. We know Google packed the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro full of AI smarts, and it sounds like Samsung will follow suit with a series of similar upgrades.

We don't have to wait much longer to see what Samsung has been working on for the Galaxy S24: most people in the know are pointing to January 17, 2024 as a possible launch date, with more to come, no doubt. leaks to watch before then.
