The latest EA Sports FC 25 refresh update is the “most important midseason gameplay update ever”
- EA SportsFC25‘s latest gameplay refresh update has been released
- Title Update 8 is “the most significant mid-season gameplay overhaul” yet
- “Major updates” have been added to key gameplay systems based on player feedback
EA has released the patch notes for EA SportsFC25‘s latest gameplay refresh update.
The mid-season update, or Title Update 8, is now live on PC and console and, according to EA, is “the most important mid-season gameplay overhaul we’ve ever made” based on player feedback.
With this update, EA has implemented “major updates” to key gameplay systems that impact matches, such as passing, shooting, goalkeeping and defense.
It has also made the gameplay “offensively smoother” to allow for greater control of the ball, reduced the frequency of tacklebacks and AI interceptions, and addressed issues such as defenders overtaking dribblers too often.
As described in the long patch notesTitle Update 8 has now made balance adjustments to attacks and defense, making them “more effective and fun.”
Some of the ways this was achieved were by improving the attacking quality of AI teammates when beating the offside line, increasing the intelligence of AI teammates’ attacking and supporting runs, and improving the effectiveness of Inside and Advanced Forwards.
Attacking players will also find that they can now better operate in attacking spaces close to others, rather than stopping their runs, and players can now provide support more quickly if they are familiar with their roles.
The patch notes also elaborate on the aforementioned tweaks to the gameplay system, which EA said was added because it wanted to “reward intelligent and quick-thinking passing plays.”
For example, the speed and accuracy of normal ground passes have now been slightly increased, along with the effectiveness of semi-assisted passes.
“While some of these changes may sound small in a vacuum, when combined with other passing changes, they are designed to allow players to move the ball around the field more easily,” EA explains.
Among many other tweaks and bug fixes, players can also find that accuracy and shot speed from the penalty area have been increased, while the way goalkeepers handle shots near the post has changed after discovering that they could sometimes mistakenly step away from the post. in tight angle shooting situations.
