Dead in daylight adds his long-awaited Alien teaming up, and it turns out that not only is a Xenomorph added, but Ellen Ripley, the Nostromo, as well as a flame dome to mess with the Xenomorph.
Better yet, if you download the public test beta, you can now play as the Xenomorph. Which, of course, I’m ecstatic about. The patch notes can be found at the Behavior interactive forums, but ultimately the most important thing is that the Xenomorph is a fast-moving and stealth attacker who can use tunnels to get across the map quickly.
Ripley is similarly stealthy and can run silently while sane, hide in lockers without growling in pain, and even deploy a chemical trap on dropped pallets, which can slow down killers when it explodes. Ripley is unlicensed which, as you can see below, is a little creepy valley.
There’s a Mori instant kill – which Dead By Daylight fans always clamor for – and in this case it sees the Xenomorph pin their victim to the ground with the bladed tail before biting into their head with the Xenomorph’s tiny mouth ( which is what you call a mouth in a mouth I guess.)
Streamers are currently playing it in depth, and YouTube streamer Mr Gimms managed to find the coolest reference on board the Nostromo; a locked room with a Facehugger that slams into the glass as a survivor walks by. Perfect for making the more anxious among us scream in panic.
The arrival of the Xenomorph on the test server also came with a trailer. It’s a good one.
Dead by Daylight: Alien will be available for purchase on August 29, 2023 on Steam, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games Store, Windows Store, and Nintendo Switch.
