The latest camera leak of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 will disappoint you
Just days after hearing about a potentially massive camera upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 in the coming months, we’ve come across a new leak that hints at a more modest increase in camera modules on the foldable phone this year.
According to GalaxyClub (through Android Authority), the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will stick with a 50MP main rear camera this time around, offering the same megapixel rating as its direct predecessor – see our Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 review for details.
Previously, we had heard that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could come with a 200MP main camera – the same camera found in the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Now it seems we may have to adjust our expectations a bit.
GalaxyClub does say that the 50MP main camera is the same as the one in the Samsung Galaxy S24. If true, it’s an upgrade over the 50MP camera in the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in terms of shooting capabilities, even though the megapixel rating is the same.

All this confusion around camera specs could indicate that Samsung still hasn’t made a decision on what will be fitted into the Galaxy Z Fold 6. We still have five months before launch, if it follows the same schedule as the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
GalaxyClub isn’t saying the 200MP rumors are completely untrue – just that it can’t confirm them, and that a 50MP camera is more likely. The other cameras are also predicted to match what we saw on the 2023 model.
It would be a disappointment to have few or no camera upgrades on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, but it may be a trade-off that many people will be willing to make if it means the price for the foldable phone doesn’t increase. possibly higher.
Speaking of pricing, Samsung is also rumored to be working on a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which we’d love to see. Both phones are expected to see the light of day this year, along with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
