The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered pre-order guide

Naughty Dog once again dusts off one of its gems for the current console generation. The Last of Us part 2 remastered, which releases on January 19 for PlayStation 5, is currently available for pre-order and comes with a host of upgrades. Although the list of improvements is not as extensive as what we got The Last of Us Part 1, Naughty Dog is clearly taking steps to take advantage of the PlayStation 5 hardware.

In addition to full DualSense controller integration and improved loading times, the remaster allows the game to be played natively in 4K, and gets an unlocked framerate option for variable refresh rate TVs. Naughty Dog has also added descriptive audio and speech to the game's suite of accessibility features. The Last of Us part 2 remastered also includes a host of new content in the form of additional outfits and weapon skins for Ellie and Abby, developer commentary tracks, and three new levels that never appeared in the game's initial release.

But perhaps the most substantial addition to the game is the No return roguelike survival mode, which lets you play through a series of random encounters as previously unplayable characters The last of us, including Tommy, Lev, Jesse, Dina and more. But if you'd rather relax instead of running away from Clickers, you can also take part in a special guitar free-play mode.

The Last of Us part 2 remastered

The Last of Us part 2 remastered is available for pre-order in physical format from several online retailers including Amazon, GameStop, Best BuyAnd Walmart for $49.99. The digital version can also be pre-ordered directly from PlayStation for the same price. However, if you already own a copy for PlayStation 4, you can upgrade to the remastered version for just $10.

The upgrade will be available on the PlayStation Store on January 19, and while it can be applied to the physical or digital versions of The Last of Us Part 2you'll need to insert your PS4 copy of the game into your PS5 every time you want to play the game for DRM purposes.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered WLF Edition

PlayStation also offers a more luxurious version of it The Last of Us part 2 remastered. Called the WLF Edition (for the Washington Liberation Front), this physical version of the game does not include any additional in-game content, but it does come with some additional loot, which we've listed below.
