The reality star added that he was “a little nervous” when he first entered the jungle because he feared he would “make himself look like ad**k.”
Sam posted a photo at Brisbane Airport before boarding his flight home, writing: 'I'M COMING HOME!!!! I just got my phone back this morning and I'm not sure where to start, but I want to start by saying thank you.
'Thank you from the bottom of my heart, there aren't really words to describe how grateful I am to everyone who supported me during my time in the jungle.
'You made a young boy's dream come true (now a little older), and I will never forget it.
'When I first set foot in that jungle, I didn't know what to expect, and I was a little nervous about whether I was going to make myself look like ad**k, because I know I'm especially a little full I like there always being a lot of people and energy around.'
'Coupled with the fact that I didn't know what was going on in the outside world, I'd be lying if I didn't say I was nervous!
“Having said that, the fact that I was on a show that I honestly never thought I'd get the chance to do, and meeting Ant and Dec and doing all these iconic experiences that I've always seen on TV, made me so damn glad I stopped worrying about that on day 2!
“I had no idea of all the support, love and kindness you all have shown me, and reading some of your comments and messages I am overwhelmed with gratitude!!!
'Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to be crowned King of the Jungle, or to do CYCLONE! Every time Ant and Dec came into camp I convinced myself I would be next.
'There's no way people actually voted for me. But each time I stayed another day, I felt more and more humiliated and emotional.
