The New York Yankees and San Diego Padres have hit a serious roadblock in their trade talks for three-time All-Star Juan Soto.
The two teams are said to have not spoken since the Padres requested a six-player package, including pitchers Michael King and Drew Thorpe. That is according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.
It was also recently reported by USA today that the Yankees refused to give up King and Thorpe in a deal with San Diego.
Thorpe is ranked No. 5 by the Yankees in the 2023 MLB rankings and if he lives up to his potential, he's expected to be a fundamental part of a team's starting rotation for years to come.
King made 49 appearances and pitched to a 2.75 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 127 strikeouts in 104.2 innings. Nine of the 28-year-old's appearances have been as a starter.

The rift between the Yankees and Padres has 'made the Toronto Blue Jays favorites for Soto'
The rift between the Yankees and Padres has reportedly led to the Toronto Blue Jays now being considered the favorites to acquire the four-time Silver Slugger.
San Diego originally acquired Soto in a huge trade in 2022, but the Padres offense never produced anything close to the expected results after pairing his talents with superstar Fernando Tatis.
The Padres finished the season with an 82–80 record, but Soto still put up impressive numbers during the year. He finished the season hitting .275, 35 home runs and 109 RBIs after playing in all 162 games.
The 25-year-old also completed 132 walks during the year.
