It’s iPhone 14 days! Today – September 16 – is the day the iPhone 14 actually ships, so those who ordered early can receive it today. The same goes for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, but not for the iPhone 14 Plus, which will be released on October 7.
Don’t expect to just walk into an Apple Store and buy one though – if you haven’t placed an order yet, you may have to wait weeks to get your hands on an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max.
In the US, at the time of writing, Apple gives a delivery time of 3-4 weeks for the iPhone 14 Pro and 4-5 weeks for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 14 is much easier to come by, with no delays currently listed, suggesting it may be less popular – which isn’t surprising considering it’s hardly an upgrade over the iPhone 13 in most respects.
The situation is similar in the UK, with delivery estimates of October 19-26 for the iPhone 14 Pro at the time of writing, and October 26-November 2 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. There are also slight shipping delays for the standard iPhone 14, currently estimated to be September 22.
As for Australia, it is currently 4-5 weeks for an iPhone 14 Pro, 5-6 weeks for an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and just two business days for an iPhone 14.
The dates may slip further too, so if you’re interested in something other than the standard model, we’d recommend placing your order now – especially as our iPhone 14 reviews are now live so you can read exactly how good these phones are. .
Analysis: delays even for early orders
Even if you’ve pre-ordered an iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max, you may have to wait a while to get it. Shipping estimates for many buyers were weeks, even the day the orders opened — and if you were affected by that, you probably already have an idea of when you should get the phone.
But even some of those who were told they were likely to get their device today have since been notified of delays.
A number of posts on social media spotted by 9to5Mac (opens in new tab) show orders that originally had an estimate of September 16, but are shifting to September 23 or 30 at the last minute, so you may want to check if your own delivery estimate has changed.
It is possible that there will also be further delays – both for these orders and for those who had already received a delivery week.
Still, these phones should be worth the wait. We awarded the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max 4.5 stars each, and even the standard iPhone 14 achieved four stars. Of course, they are all among the best iPhones as well.
