The Inheritance: Meet the cast of Channel 5’s intense new drama starring ex-Coronation Street and Emmerdale stars

New drama The Inheritance arrives on Channel 5 on Monday 5 September at 9pm.

There are four episodes in total and the series ends on September 25.

The series revolves around three siblings who want to investigate their father’s untimely death after learning that they were not included in his will.

The synopsis reads: “Secrets are exploded, relationships ripped apart and lives lost as the siblings desperately try to reclaim their legacy and understand what is happening around them.”

It adds, “If you ask the question, is blood really thicker than water?”

Robert James-Collier-Daniel

British actor Robert will play one of the siblings Daniel in the drama.

He is best known for joining Coronation Street in 2017 as Liam Connor. He co-owned the Underworld factory before leaving the show in October 2008.

After leaving Corrie, he gained international recognition as the scheming Thomas Barrow in the historical drama series Downton Abbey.

In 2019, it was announced that he had been cast in the third series of Channel 4 school drama Ackley Bridge as Martin Evershed.

He also won the Sexiest Man award at the 2007 and 2008 British Soap Awards, in addition to ‘Best Exit’ at the 2009 British Soap Awards.

Gaynor Faye-Sian

The actress will take on the role of second sibling Sian and is one of the show’s more established stars.

Gaynor is an English actress and writer, best known for playing Judy Mallett in Coronation Street from 1995 to 1999 and Megan Macey in Emmerdale from 2012 to 2019.

In 2006 she appeared in ITV’s Dancing on Ice. Her skating partner was Daniel Whiston.

Faye lives with their two children with partner Mark Pickering in Leeds.

Jemima Rooper-Chloe

Jemima, who will play the third sibling Chloe, started out as a child actress in television series. She appeared in numerous film and theater roles.

After several minor roles in British TV series, Jemima took on the role of Nicki Sutton in Channel 4’s popular teen series As If which ran for three years with success.

Her next appearance was in the supernatural drama Hex where she played a sweet lesbian ghost named Thelma.

She made her Hollywood debut in The Black Dahlia and later starred in films such as The Railway Children and A Sound of Thunder.

Larry Lamb-Daniel

Another mysterious character in the series is their father Daniel, played by Larry Lamb.

Father of four Larry is an English actor and radio presenter.

He played Archie Mitchell in the BBC soap opera EastEnders but left the show in 2009.

Larry also played Mick Shipman in the BBC comedy series Gavin & Stacey and Ted Case in the final series of the BBC drama New Tricks.

He also appeared on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2016.
