The good, the bad and the ugly of the Magnificent Seven: Blue Whale manager on the INVESTING SHOW

The Magnificent Seven have dominated stock market returns and investment news over the past year and a half.

The giants Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta and Tesla have been brought together thanks to their sparkling share price performance and their technical status.

But which of the Magnificent Seven remain a good investment? In this episode of the Investing Show, Stephen Yiu, manager of the Blue Whale Growth Fund, explains to Simon Lambert why he likes some of these stocks but would avoid others.

The fund, which is up 18 percent this year and delivering a 30 percent return for investors in 2023, has benefited from some of those names.

As he goes through the good, the bad and the ugly of the Magnificent Seven, Yiu explains why he’s happy to continue to hold a large position in Nvidia and Microsoft – and why he bought back into Meta after previously leaving it had sold.

Yiu manages a tight portfolio for Blue Whale with just 30 positions, selected from what he considers the best growth stocks in the world.

He explains how he chooses those shares and how he decides whether to keep or sell these shares.
