Paris Saint Germain became the latest side to take inspiration from Bournemouth and score a genius routine straight from the training ground.

Bournemouth came up with the move last season that sees a team get from their own kick off to the opposition’s penalty area in just four passes.

The Cherries became the pioneers of the move when they scored straight from kick off away at Fulham in December last year.

Solanke finished off the slick move and thus started a craze among professional – and non-professional – sides to try and copy Bournemouth’s brilliance.

PSG became the latest exponents of the move on Sunday night when they scored away at Lille inside eight seconds.

Straight from kick off, Neymar played the ball back to Vitinha who laid it off to Lionel Messi. Mbappe and Neymar had by then already surged forward awaiting the ball from midfield.

Unsurprisingly, Messi’s ball over the top for Mbappe was perfectly weighted and the France international duly held his side of the bargain to put the French champions ahead and well on their way to a convincing victory.

PSG went on to beat manager Christophe Galtier’s former side 7-1 with Mbappe grabbing a hat-trick.

While PSG successfully carried out the genius move, they are not the only side to have taken a leaf out of Bournemouth’s book.

Sparta Rotterdam performed the routine in their second Eredivsie game of the season when they hosted AZ Alkmaar. The Dutch side posted a clip on their social media of Vito van Crooij’s finish dubbed next to Solanke’s in a nod to the south coast club.

Meanwhile, showing that players at various levels are capable of carrying out the move from kick off, Cliftonville FC, a semi-professional side from Northern Ireland, also posted a video of their side achieving the remarkable feat.

Bournemouth have since also posted a clip on their social media account showing sides who have tried – and failed – to copy their routine. It is some roll of honour, with the likes of Rayo Vallecano and Real Madrid attempting the trick.
