The full specs of AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D have been leaked, and it’s great news for gamers and overclockers alike
The specs for AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 7 9800X3D have been leaked ahead of its planned November 7 release – and that’s good news for gamers.
The leak remains consistent with the previous leak in the marketing description regarding a performance increase over its predecessor, the 7800X3D. As noted by VideoCardzThe leak comes from Geizhals, a price comparison tool used by retailers in Europe. Although the veracity of the information cannot be fully determined at this time, it is likely accurate; After all, leaks coming from retailers are usually more reliable than anonymous claims on social media.
AMD’s upcoming CPU will reportedly use eight Zen 5 cores with a base clock speed of 4.70 GHz, which can be boosted to 5.20 GHz – a 0.20 GHz jump over the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and with the CPU multiplier unlocked allows users to manually overclock this new processor. This wasn’t possible with previous AMD CPUs that used 3D V-Cache, which could be a major boon for overclocking enthusiasts.
The leaked specs point to 96MB 3D V-Cache, identical to the 7800X3D (which is among AMD’s best processors), but the aforementioned marketing leak suggested the 9800X3D might have an 8% performance boost over AMD’s current high -end gaming CPU.
