Michael Clarke is embroiled in a scandal after his current girlfriend, Jade Yarbrough, accused the former cricketer of cheating on him with her ex-boyfriend, Pip Edwards.

Sensational footage emerged on Wednesday night of Clarke and Yarbrough embroiled in an exchange of fire over the alleged incident in front of shocked onlookers in a public park.

Now, veteran showbiz reporter Peter Ford has revealed that the four words Clarke said during her fight with him will ‘haunt’ him in the future.

During an appearance on Channel Seven’s Sunrise on Thursday to discuss the scandal, Ford said: “He used four words that I think will haunt him.”

“I think it’s because of her character or what people will perceive from her character, where she says twice, ‘In my daughter’s life it’s not true.

“And now, of course, he’s indicating that yes, it was indeed true,” Ford added. ‘You don’t take that card out and use it unless it’s really true.’

Karl Stefanovic and Clarke clashed while on holiday with their respective partners, sisters Jasmine and Jade, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast on January 10.

The melee is understood to have been over Clarke’s ex-girlfriend, high-profile fashion designer Edwards and recent messages between the couple.

The dramatic images obtained by the daily telegraph it shows a shirtless Clarke being yelled at and slapped by his irate girlfriend as others in the group try to defuse the fight.

But Edwards, 42, had none of the drama when he returned home to the eastern suburbs on Wednesday night after attending Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road concert at Allianz Stadium in Moore Park.

‘This is not my circus. Once again, Michael in his true nature has not taken responsibility for his actions and I was blatantly lied to,” he said in a statement to Daily Mail Australia.

Edwards later shared photos of herself beaming at Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour at Allianz Stadium in Moore Park.

In a video of the angry exchange between Clarke, Stefanovic and their partners, Jade accuses Clarke of sleeping with Edwards on December 17 and texts him to tell her that he is the “love of her life.”

All hell broke loose as the famous mates and their loves dined at a beachside restaurant in Noosa with celebrity accountant Anthony Bell.

The video opens with Jade yelling at Clarke before she punches him in the face and pushes him after the cricketing legend claims he hadn’t cheated on her.

‘I’m wrong? I’m fucking wrong! You are a fucking liar. Ican see everything. You called her,’ Jade yells, apparently referring to the messages between Clarke and Edwards.

‘This is not my circus. Once again, Michael in the true nature of him has not taken responsibility for his actions and I was blatantly lied to,” Pip Edwards said in a statement to Daily Mail Australia.

Clarke then tries to reassure Jade that she had not slept with Edwards on December 17 and claimed that she had been with her partner Bell that night.

“Baby, you’re wrong, you’re wrong,” Clarke insists. ‘Baby, baby, Belly was in the house. I swear on my life, I swear on my life… That’s not true, it’s not true.’

He then swore on the life of his daughter Kelsey that he did not cheat on her.

“I swear on my daughter’s life, on my daughter’s life,” Clarke says.

But Jade refuses to believe Clarke’s desperate protests and claims that she spoke to Edwards.

‘You’re lying to me. You are a piece of s**t. I just talked to her. What’s wrong with you? she says.

Clarke again denies that she slept with Pip, replying: ‘No, I didn’t. you can hit me That’s not true, that’s not true’.

Clarke appeared to have pulled his hamstring in the melee after Jade pushed him to the ground as he was seen limping through the public park.

Stefanovic’s wife, Jasmine, finally intervenes and grabs her distraught sister by the arm and leads Jade away.

Jasmine can be heard saying, “Go to Karl, go out to Karl.”

As she is led away, Jade can be heard crying as she turns to Clarke and says, “I hate you.”

Clarke then tries to follow Jade before she unleashes a wave of rage at Stefanovic, apparently because she’s leaving with the two sisters.

‘Karlos, I can tell you now c**t, don’t go. She can, she can hit me, but you idiot,” says Clarke.

The comment provokes the fury of Jade, who defends her brother-in-law before slapping Clarke repeatedly across the face.

“You piece of shit, don’t talk to him,” he yells.

Stefanovic and his famous accountant Anthony Bell can be heard telling the couple to stop, which falls on deaf ears.

“Go hit me, hit me… do it again, you’re wrong, you’re fucking wrong,” Clarke tells his girlfriend.

Jade yells, ‘Oh, am I wrong? You fucked her (Edwards) on December 17th, you fucked her… you fucking dog… I’m going to show her every fucking message you ever sent me. .’

She references a text message she saw on Clarke’s phone inviting Edwards to go to India with him.

“Oh yes, you are the love of my life, Pip, come to India,” says Jade.

Clarke replies, ‘Don’t ever talk to me again.’

The two-minute clip ends with Jasmine and Bell separating the feuding couple.

“Stop, Jade, stop,” Jasmine pleads. Bell adds, ‘Let it go Jade.’

The ugly altercation unfolded in front of young children who were nearby, according to stunned witnesses.

A repentant Clarke has taken full responsibility for what happened.

I am absolutely heartbroken, I have put people I hold in the highest regard in this position. My actions in the lead up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable,” he told the Daily Telegraph on Wednesday night.

“I am devastated that by my actions I have brought women of class and integrity, and my peers, into this situation.”

Daily Mail Australia has contacted all other parties involved for comment.

Clarke’s relationship with former partner Edwards began in June 2020, following his split from his wife Kyly, which they had announced four months earlier.

He and Edwards had been friends for over a decade before that, but became friends while working on a fashion project together.

The couple separated in December 2021.

A source close to the couple confirmed the split, saying: “The decision was mutual. They are two best friends who decided to part ways as a couple earlier this month but are continuing their friendship.

After their breakup, Edwards had an affair with Bondi restaurateur Cameron Northway for about four months, but that fell through and she got back together with Clarke.

Clarke and Edwards had recently attended an exclusive top-notch New Years party at the iconic Sydney Icebergs.

The former Australian Test cricket captain was married to former model Kyly Clarke (née Boldy), 40, from 2012 to 2019, but the couple only announced their split in February 2020.

The Clarkes kept their split under wraps for several months before she posted a statement on Instagram saying her priority was her daughter.

In a statement at the time, the couple said the “amicable” decision to separate was “the best path forward” for their daughter.
