The Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix is approved to use the famous Strip until 2032

What happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas, as long as all the necessary paperwork is in place and the local government gives its approval.

That’s the case with Formula One, which has been granted permission to run the Las Vegas Grand Prix on the city’s famous Strip until 2032. The Clark County Commission approved the motion Tuesday, guaranteeing to F1’s newest race a decade-long run in the mecca of the game.

Additionally, the move creates the possibility of making the Las Vegas Grand Prix a permanent event in the city’s increasingly crowded sports calendar.

“I think it’s important to note that we have a three-year contract with Formula One, but we anticipate a lifetime partnership,” Clark County Commissioner James Gibson said.

‘This will open the way to be able to do it for at least 10 years. And beyond that, I am sure that those who follow us will see the value of what we have done and will continue to do it forever.

The ruling applies primarily to the Strip, a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard South known for casinos and resort hotels that takes its name from Hollywood’s Sunset Strip.

However, it also grants waivers for organizers to close other areas of Las Vegas Boulevard “from Wednesday through Sunday, the week before the Thanksgiving holiday in November in the years 2023 to 2032.”

The 3.8-mile run will include several of Las Vegas’ many landmarks, including the Bellagio fountains, Mandalay Bay, Caesars Palace and the new ball-shaped MSG Sphere.

And unlike other F1 races, Las Vegas will take place on Saturday night instead of Sunday afternoon when most events normally take place.

VIP packages for the race are already in the seven-figure range.

In December, Caesars Entertainment revealed its ‘Emperor Package’, which costs a whopping $5 million.

Package includes: a dozen passes to the Paddock Club during race week, tickets to see Adele in concert at Caesars Palace, five nights in a 4,700-square-foot terrace suite overlooking the racetrack , 24-hour butler service, use of a Rolls-Royce-driven chauffeur, and a private meal with Michelin-starred chef Nobu Matsuhisa.

Food: Also as part of the Emperor Package you get a private meal with Michelin-starred chef Nobu Matsuhisa.

There will be a VIP host to coordinate everything for Emperor Package guests, including nights at OMNIA nightclub and Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace.

The villa also includes an outdoor zen garden with a Japanese onsen tub, pool table, full bar, outdoor kitchen, as well as a sauna and private spa treatment room, not to mention a private elevator.

The extravagant vacation is five times more expensive than a similar offering Wynn Las Vegas unveiled in November, and the potentially most expensive packages could be reserved for Las Vegas in 2024, when the city hosts its first Super Bowl.

The Las Vegas race is expected to be the most expensive sporting event on Formula One’s schedule next year. Pricing starts at $500 for a three-day general admission pass. Those seats were only added after fans complained that hotels planned to buy massive blocks of tickets and repackage them into entertainment experiences ranging from $100,000 to $1 million.

Before tickets first went on sale in November, seating in the stands started at $2,500.
