A young financial professional has revealed how you can eat for half price at some of the country’s hottest restaurants.

Queen Tanwho is known for being super smart and teaching others to cut back on their bills, revealed that she used a “secret app” to save money by eating out.

The First Table app promises diners 50 percent off meals at their chosen restaurants — the catch is that they must order the “first table” of the session.

For most restaurants, during a dinner service, this means you’ll be seated at 5:30 PM.

The savvy 26-year-old was eager to try out the app, so her boyfriend Pablo took a date to Izakaya Tori in the interior.

They stuffed themselves with starters, mains and desserts.

“We ate a lot and Pablo was very happy,” she said.

And when the bill came they got the discount.

Queenie said guests should read each restaurant’s terms and conditions before booking their table.

“One thing to highlight when you book – make sure you read the full terms and conditions – some restaurants only have certain things for half price,” she said.

‘The raw bar (in this restaurant) is not included in the 50% discount and you must also order a drink (but non-alcoholic drinks/tea are fine!).’

Queenie also revealed that the app charged $10 per booking, which doesn’t come off the bill.

First Table was developed by Mat Weir, a tech entrepreneur who wanted to solve the problem of slow start to restaurant evenings.

Mat once ate at a small French restaurant in Queenstown and noticed that the “first table” served everything for half price.

She went out with her partner Pablo to try the hack, and it worked

The app charges $10, which made Queenie nervous until she got the bill – and saw the huge discount

He asked the staff how they managed to get such a great deal and they explained that it helped create a good atmosphere from the start of the service and attract others to the restaurant.

He decided the idea was brilliant and went on to develop the app and engage restaurants across Australia and New Zealand.

Restaurants in the United Kingdom, Canada, Bali and Ireland also use the app.

Queenie’s fans were amazed at the advice and thanked her for sharing it.

While some argued that the $10 fee charged by the app meant the deal was “not worth it.”

Groups of two, three and four guests can reserve a table via the app.
