The finale will not receive a content roadmap because Embark Studios doesn't want to overpromise, the creative director has explained.
According to a new Axios reportthe team behind the recently released first-person, team-based arena shooter isn't considering releasing a content roadmap detailing plans for the game to avoid promising more than it can deliver.
“We better stop doing things like that and make promises that we can keep,” said creative director Gustav Tilleby.
With the surprising launch of The finale earlier this month the game received its first battle pass with a plethora of rewards for players to unlock, and aside from some recent hotfixes and patches, Embark hasn't shared what the plans are for the game as we head into 2024.
Until new details are shared, we can only make predictions. Since the game features several maps that can be played in different game modes, it's possible that more will be added in the future, along with new ways to play, and perhaps even some equipment and skill changes later down the road. However, none of this has been confirmed.
We're right to think that players will also receive a new Battle Pass once the current season is over, which will introduce new rewards and items to the in-game store.
Elsewhere, The finale has been suffering from a plethora of cheaters lately that are making ranked matches almost unplayable. In response to player reports, Embark explained that it was unable to resolve the game's persistent cheating issues due to a bug, but a fix is currently being worked on.
In addition, the developer will make improvements to its EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) system by adding further protections to the game to prevent more cheaters from interrupting matches.
The finale is now available for free on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
