Country music star Bryan and the Barstool Sports host β real name Brianna LaPaglia β dated for more than a year, but their relationship ended very publicly in October and details are still emerging about what happened.
Brianna has now decided to speak out on her Barstool BFFs podcast, revealing that Bryan’s team offered her twelve million dollars to sign a non-disclosure agreement that would prevent her from talking about their relationship.
In the premiere of the podcast episode, which was watched live by more than 200,000 people on Thursday evening, she said: ‘The second one he posted [the break-up announcement]I was like βf*** you, I don’t want a settlement, that’s not me.β It was back and forth, his team called me.
βThey gave me all these options, they started low and then went up to $10 million, and then $12 million. Then they wanted to give me a house, then they wanted to give me an apartment in New York. They wanted to do all these things…
Brianna LaPaglia has revealed the surprising details behind her split from Zach Bryan
The high-profile couple split last month and Bryan is said to have offered $12 million to buy her silence
β$12 million not to talk about this relationship you posted on Instagram was so beautiful and you had so much love for me. What the hell are you hiding, dude? What are you afraid of?
βI went through a year of literal, narcissistic emotional abuse, and he made me believe everything was my fault, isolated me my entire life and didn’t let me be who I wanted to be. He kept beating me up repeatedly.β
LaPaglia further revealed that she initially decided to take the settlement offer before changing her mind after Bryan’s legal team reportedly kept making excuses for not transferring the money immediately.
Her boss, Dave Portnoy, owner of Barstool Sports, then got involved and co-wrote a diss track with his co-host slamming Bryan.
It was later removed by Warner Music due to copyright infringements, and Portnoy revealed on the podcast that he got involved with Bryan’s lawyers to try to get them to send the money to his employee.
Dave Portnoy sent an angry text to Bryan’s lawyers urging them to pay LaPaglia her payout
LaPaglia released a tearful video about the split last month, claiming she was ‘blindsided’
In a text message, Portnoy claims he told Bryan’s attorney, “Hey, this is Dave Portnoy.” I don’t know who you think you’re dealing with. I’ve been nice so far. Pay Bri ASAP or I’m coming for Zach’s throat… I tried to stay out of it, but STOP F***ING AROUND. Pay her or shut up. I’m losing my patience.’
Ultimately, LaPaglia says she chose not to give up her rights to speak about the relationship, but to reveal all in an astonishing podcast episode.
In it, she detailed the country star’s alleged “emotional abuse,” which continued throughout their relationship until their breakup last month.
‘I won’t take the money [from the non-disclosure agreement] It’s not just for me, it’s for everyone who has been emotionally abused, it’s for people right now who are being emotionally abused,β she explained.
βI’ve been lucky enough to experience this for people who don’t have a support system. This last year of my life has been the hardest year of my life, dealing with the abuse from this guy.

In an Instagram post announcing the split, Bryan was full of praise for his ex-girlfriend
βI’m still scared now, I’m scared of him, my brain has been rewired, I’m scared of making him mad. Last week I didn’t want to talk about it because I was scared.”
Chickenfry then claimed that previous girlfriends were ‘made’ to go down that path.
“I said ‘f*** your money’, but you made the women before me believe they had no choice but to take money from you, write down their experiences and draw what they went through,” she said.
βYou can go and sing your little damn songs on stage like you’re a good guy. I don’t want to buy a damn house in two years and think, “Oh, this is the guy’s money who literally broke and destroyed me for a year.”
