The export figures for FY04, FY14 and FY24 show interesting trends
The Ministry of Commerce has released the rapid estimates of export and import figures for March 2024. Figures for the full year 2023-24 are now available, allowing an assessment of export figures for 2003-04, 2013-14 and 2023. -24.
Total merchandise export figures have increased from $63.84 billion in 2003-2004 to $314.40 billion in 2013-2014 (an increase of $250.62 billion), and now stand at $437.06 billion (an increase of 122. $65 billion). So while goods exports almost quadrupled in the period 2004-2014, they grew by just over a third in the period 2014-2024. However, service exports grew from $46 billion
