The Evil Within, free on the Epic Games Store, is a Halloween treat

Consider this a spooky season Evil inside, the debut action horror game from Resident Evil collaborator Shinji Mikami and a debt game from Tango Gameworks. This is an unfair and horrible horror game currently free to download (and keep) on the Epic Games Store — and is available through both Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra subscription.

Evil insidewith a mix of surreal scares, stealth, and survival horror, it’s somewhere between the Resident Evil and Silent Hill games. There is plenty of blood. In the first couple of hours, Sebastian Castellanos’ protagonist will find himself rolling into a sauricular gate, splashing in a pool of blood, and digging through a rotting corpse in search of a set of nails.
