It comes after high-profile Everest contender Lost And Running was pulled from the $15 million race due to lameness.
The John O’Shea-trained sprinter, considered one of the top threats to Nature Strip, was pulled from the world’s richest grass race Saturday morning.
“A vet inspection this morning revealed Lost And Running to be lame in the hind leg and unfit to start in Everest,” said a statement from Racing NSW.
Lost And Running finished fourth in the 2021 Everest and was the second favorite, behind reigning Everest winner Nature Strip, to claim this year’s edition.
More to come.
