The festivities continued for E Jean Carroll as MSNBC’s Molly Jong-Fast threw a celebrity party in her honor following her whopping $83.3 million smear victory over Donald Trump.
The former Elle columnist was hailed as an “icon” by a host of media power brokers at the exclusive Flower Shop bar on New York’s Lower-East Side.
Jong-Fast’s MSNBC colleague Lawrence O’Donnell was among those paying tribute alongside former Saturday Night Live producer Marci Klein, New York Times opinion writer Lydia Polgreen and Sarah Ellison of the Washington Post.
“She seemed elated and vindicated. She was in awe and triumphant,” one guest reported.
‘She looked like a hero. It’s great to see women winning the day,” another added.
E. Jean Carroll, seen here leaving the court with her lawyers, is still celebrating after Friday’s $83.3 million defamation verdict against Donald Trump
MSNBC stalwarts Lawrence O’Donnell and Molly Jong-Fast helped Jean Carroll celebrate at a party at the Flower Shop bar in New York on Tuesday
The former president has begun recruiting new lawyers and has urged an appeal against Friday’s ruling, which he called “absolutely ridiculous.”
Jean Carroll, 80, has pledged to spend the money on whatever “Donald Trump hates,” but that came as the former president began interviewing lawyers to take up his appeal.
The staggering amount was more than three times what her own lawyers had asked for after a jury in a Manhattan courthouse agreed that Trump had defamed her by denying that he sexually assaulted her in 1996.
As he headed to the party, O’Donnell claimed Trump was “heading for bankruptcy,” with further civil lawsuits on January 6 and his New York fraud case potentially costing him $1 billion.
“That could be the smallest debt Donald Trump owes, and just the beginning of Donald Trump’s bankruptcy,” he told viewers.
Jong-Fast’s appointment as MSNBC’s political analyst was confirmed yesterday. The daughter of famed feminist writer Erica Jong, she helped introduce Jean Carroll to her legal team and described the award as “satisfying,” claiming the former president should have been “kicked back into the gutter of reality television” instead to win the White House. .
Jean Carroll told ABC’s Good Morning America on Sunday that she plans to spend the money on “something that Donald Trump hates.”
“If it hurts him when I give money to certain things, that’s my intention,” she added, suggesting she would set up a “fund for the women sexually assaulted by Donald Trump.”
Lydia Polgreen of the New York Times and former Saturday Night Live producer Marci Klein were among the guests
Former ABC White House correspondent Tara Palmeri was also among the guests
The chic bar in New York’s Lower East Side is a popular spot for celebrity parties
On Monday, she said she would go shopping with Rachel Maddow for “completely new wardrobes, new shoes,” and ask the MSNBC host if she wanted a “penthouse.”
Also in attendance at Tuesday’s party were Puck columnist Tara Palmeri, Studio 360 podcast host Kurt Andersen and Rolling Stone editor-in-chief Noah Shachtman.
His appearance came hours after the magazine published a story claiming Trump doesn’t care if Taylor Swift endorses Joe Biden for president because he believes he is “more popular” than her.
Donald Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba may be looking for a new job after the ex-president turned to law firms to lead his appeal
One guest suggested that Carroll could “buy the bar,” but the event has sparked a growing backlash on social media, with many warning her celebrations are premature.
“She will never see a dime and will end up paying legal fees once the appeal ends up in a non-kangaroo court in New York,” Anthony Giaquinto wrote.
When I saw MSNBC gloat about this, it has never been more obvious,” Carole added.
‘These people are sick. They are bullies without any personal power, who cling to their role as puppets.
“There’s nothing like someone gloating loud and too fast,” wrote Don A.
“Carroll may one day regret this rather premature celebration.”
Trump called Friday’s multi-million dollar award “absolutely ridiculous.”
“They took away all First Amendment rights,” he wrote on Truth Social, “THIS IS NOT AMERICA!”
“I, along with my team, are in the process of interviewing several law firms to represent me in an appeal against one of the most ridiculous and unfair witch hunts our country has ever seen,” he wrote yesterday.
“The smear Sham is presided over by a Clinton-appointed, highly partisan, Trump-hating Judge, Lewis Kaplan, who, along with certain other radical left Democratic judges, was one of the most partisan and out-of-control activists I have ever dealt with have appeared. ‘

“Rachel, what do you want? Penthouse? It’s yours Rachel!’ Carroll told MSNBC host Rachel Maddow when she appeared on her show Monday
But he suffered a setback when lawyer Alina Habba, who represented him during the case, withdrew one of her main grounds for appeal.
She had described the fact that Judge Lewis Kaplan had worked at the same law firm as Carroll’s lawyer Roberta Kaplan in the early 1990s, with no family, as an “insane conflict of interest.”
But she folded after Roberta Kaplan hit back, denying the claim and threatening professional sanctions against her for creating “a false narrative of judicial bias.”
“Since Ms. Kaplan has now denied that a mentor-mentee relationship ever existed between herself and Your Honor, this matter appears to have been resolved,” Habba wrote to the judge.”
