The director of Granblue Fantasy: Relink believes Cygames’ ‘time and effort’ has paid off despite the game’s many delays
Granblue fantasy: Relink‘s director Yasuyuki Kaji has said he feels “terrible” about the time the game has spent in development.
In August 2023, developer Cygames announced that, after several delays in recent years, Granblue fantasy: Relink will eventually launch on February 1, 2024 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
The action role-playing game was announced in 2016 and according to the game director, the “time and effort” has paid off, even though he feels “terrible” about how long the game took to develop.
“I hate how long it took us to develop Relink and for keeping our fans in the dark,” Kaji said in an interview interview with PlayStation Blog published yesterday (January 30). “That said, I truly believe our time and effort have translated well into this title. The great response we received to the demo version gave us confidence that players would appreciate the work we put into it. Relinkbut of course I’m feeling nervous as the launch gets closer.”
With the game just a day away from its launch, general manager Tetsuya Fukuhara said that “reality has not yet sunk in” for him, adding: “With the company’s support, we were able to focus on the game’s development. , and the demo version received a more positive response than we had hoped, so I feel like all the effort we put into making this title as exciting as possible has paid off.”
Relink will be the latest spin-off game based on the original Granblue fantasy mobile game series. Cygames was recently released Granblue Fantasy vs: Risinga 2.5D fighting game developed by Arc System Works for PC and PlayStation consoles, which we rated four and a half stars out of five.
