‘The DeVito family is made for TV!’: Fans go wild for Giants quarterback’s family as cameras catch brilliant TD celebrations (and his agent looks like he’s straight out of the Sopranos!)

Tommy DeVito's sudden rise to fame as the New York Giants quarterback has captured the hearts and minds of football fans across the country.

DeVito, an undrafted rookie who had a tumultuous college experience at Syracuse and Illinois, has now led the Giants to three straight victories.

That included a win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football – where DeVito completed 17 of 21 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown.

But as much as the attention was focused on DeVito on the field, the cameras also captured action in the stands from the QB's rather emotional family.

DeVito's father and his agent (who wore a fedora and a pinstriped suit and looked like he walked straight out of a Martin Scorsese movie) made Italian hand gestures of approval after the TD.

Off the field, his family celebrated the victory in perhaps the most 'Italian' way possible

DeVito's father was then seen planting a kiss on the officer's cheek before turning to another family member and doing the same.

After the game, DeVito himself said the photos of his father and family celebrating were “good for business.”

Fans on Twitter were able to take it all in and react – with plenty of references to The Sopranos.

“The DeVito Family was made for TV,” wrote Talkin' Giants host Bobby Skinner.

Another user tweeted a GIF of Tony Soprano smoking a cigar with the caption, “Waiting for this shot of pop after the game.”

“His father is the epitome of a traditional Italian man from New Jersey,” another Tweet read.

One skeptical user said, “100 (percent) believe his 'agent' is a paid actor from the NFL to pump up the Italian story.”

After three straight wins under DeVito, the Giants were able to shockingly clinch a Wild Card spot

Thanks in part to DeVito's efforts, the Giants are suddenly within striking distance of clawing their way to what would be a shocking playoff berth.

At 5-8, they are just one game behind a five-team tie, with 6-7 teams vying for the final Wild Card spot – currently occupied by the Packers team they just defeated.

Other teams with a 6-7 record include the Los Angeles Rams, the Seattle Seahawks, the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints.

The final two teams also compete with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – who also have a 6-7 record but are currently in the lead in the NFC South division.

New York would probably have to win — and then have a perfect blend of wins and losses among the teams ahead of them — to make it, but it's still a possibility.
