Last month, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 got its grand reveal, and the foldable phone lineup could be a clue to the design pipeline for the flagship Samsung Galaxy S24 arriving early next year.
According to serial tipster @UniverseIce (through SamMobile), the upcoming Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus will get a “vertical frame design” that gets rid of the slightly curved bulge around the edges of current Galaxy S23 handsets.
It’s not a huge change, but it should be noticeable when you look at the phones and hold them. So would the updated design more in line with what we have with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 – and more as Apple has done with the iPhone 14 handsets.
There’s no mention of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra here, so we assume the most expensive phone in the series will go its own way in terms of design aesthetics, perhaps just following the blueprint laid out by the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra .
Design evolution
Everything should be revealed in the coming months, but with the launch of Samsung’s latest foldable devices wrapped up, those preoccupied with Samsung leaks and rumors can focus on the Galaxy S24 – with a launch expected in January or February.
It’s only been a few days since we heard that the galaxy s24 ultra could make the switch from aluminum to the tougher titanium while also getting lighter so there could be a few tweaks next year in terms of the design and the construction of these phones.
We’re at the stage now where it’s hard for phone makers to do anything really innovative in terms of the look of their devices, meaning we have some minor edits to curves and edges rather than anything major.
On the inside, it sounds like there might not be much change in terms of any of the cameras on the Galaxy S24, as the Exynos chipset is rumored to be returning. Expect many more Galaxy S24 rumors in the coming months.
