The Dentist Reveals the Three Things LAZY Patients Do That Will Ruin Their Teeth, So How Many Are YOU Guilty of?

A dentist has revealed three habits that damage people’s gums and ruin their teeth in a shocking TikTok video.

Dr. Wei Jian, from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, shared a video about the social media platform about how certain behaviors lead to chipped, sensitive, and crooked teeth.

In his highly animated piece for the camera, where he dons his light cleaning gear, Dr. Jian begins the clip by advising patients to stop grinding their gnashers.

NHS guidance shows that this can cause them to wear out, become overly sensitive and break.

Dr. Wei Jian (above), from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, explained how certain behaviors lead to chipped, sensitive, and crooked teeth.

It shows the consequences of bruxism by superimposing two images of teeth that appear to be chipped.

What NOT to do if you want healthy teeth

1. Grind the teeth

2. Stop using chopsticks

3. Biting your nails

Her second piece of advice is to stop using toothpicks, as they can lead to damaged and receding gums, as well as sensitive teeth.

Dr. Jian shakes his head as the image of a toothpick appears showing three clicks of inflamed gums.

Finally, he explains how nail biting can lead to chipped teeth by examining three photographs of broken and uneven teeth.

He ends the video by winking and showing his immaculate teeth to the recorder.

The news comes after an expert revealed how to get a smile to rival a Hollywood star at a fraction of the price.

Dr. Krystyna Wilczynski, an Essex-based cosmetic dentist and facial esthetician, advises swapping fizzy drinks and caffeine for vegetables like broccoli, which contain high levels of iron that reduce acid erosion that leads to tooth discolouration.

In his highly animated piece for the camera, donning his lightweight cleaning gear, Dr. Jian (above) explains how biting your nails can lead to chipped teeth.

‘It’s important to watch what you eat and drink if you want white teeth. Many foods and drinks, such as wine, contain substances that can stain teeth,’ he explained.

“The color found in these items originates from chromogens, which are deeply pigmented molecules that are attracted to the enamel surface of teeth.”

Heavily stained foods wear away enamel and expose dentin, which is naturally yellow in color. Acidic drinks and foods like fizzy drinks that we enjoy can cause enamel erosion and this will also expose yellow dentin.’
