The Day Before has been delayed another month after a dog ate Fntastic’s homework
Fantastic, the developers behind it The day beforeannounced via a statement on Twitter that the game has been delayed again and will now be released next month on December 7. While this indicates that the game that everyone expected simply wouldn’t exist would finally see the light of day, there is still a slight hesitation among players.
Since it was first announced in 2021, it has The day before has faced a number of obstacles in its development, including filing a lawsuit against the use of the title, which pushed back the title’s progress, in addition to several delays in its release date. But Fntastic’s most recent statement addressed this lawsuit, and the team quickly announced that they had “reclaimed” the title. The full statement on Twitter reads:

In addition to confirming the delay in the release date, Fntastic has announced that The day before “will be in Early Access on Steam as this is our first major game, and unforeseen circumstances may arise,” suggesting that issues will almost certainly follow. The company adds that a “full release will occur when we are confident this is the best possible version of the game.”
In addition to the news of a new delay, the statement stated that the Steam page has also been reinstated by Valve after it was taken private earlier this year. Finally, Fntastic also announced that pre-orders will not be available for the game, but no reason was given as to why.
Whether or not the December 7 launch will actually go ahead and finally give players the chance to explore The day before still feels up in the air despite the statement. Given the many challenges and delays the game has already seen, we’re all slightly wary that there will be another delay ahead of the early access launch, so it’s worth keeping an eye on the game the official Twitter page for the game to be sure.
