  • Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson antagonized Arsenal fans at the Etihad
  • The Brazilian simulated Gunners supporters crying with his fists
  • His response came as City rioted in their 4-1 win over Mikel Arteta’s side

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson took time out as his teammates celebrated another goal in their 4-1 demolition of Arsenal to taunt traveling supporters.

Hopeful Gunners fans had made the weekday trip from London to watch their side move one step closer to winning the Premier League title.

But left disheartened when goals from Jon Stones, Erling Haaland and a brace from Kevin de Bruyne told a different story.

Footage has now emerged of City’s Brazilian shot-stopper dragging rival supporters into the Etihad stadium by making a series of hand gestures and actions at them.

The 29-year-old was clearly enjoying his team’s moment of glory, joining City supporters who jeered Arsenal fans as the clock ticked down in the anticipated title-deciding battle.

Ederson initially attempted to mock Arsenal fans by curling his fists into balls and waving them in front of his eyes as a clear suggestion that Gunners supporters were crying over their side’s performance.

Surrounding Cityzens cheered their goalkeeper as soon as they realized what he was doing and encouraged him to continue to antagonize their opponents.

Ederson agreed and as Arsenal fans were furious, he stuck out his tongue and grinned, knowing that City would miss out on eventual winners in the tie.

He was given a half-hearted reality check when Rob Holding’s close range shot flew past him into the City goal in the 86th minute, preventing Ederson from getting the clean sheet.

But that didn’t stop the Brazilian from partying full-time as City closed the gap at the top of the Premier League to just two points.

There were other reasons to celebrate that Erling Haaland broke the record for the highest number of goals scored in a single Premier League season.

The Norwegian grabbed his 33rd goal of the campaign, breaking the record previously held by Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah.

Meanwhile, City’s near-perfect performance led Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand to insist that Ederson and his teammates could win the historic treble this season.

Manchester City are next in action as they head to Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.
