The Corrs thrill festival goers as they take to the stage at BST Hyde Park – as age-defying lead singer Andrea, 50, stuns in a racy LBD

Celtic pop act The Corrs thrilled festival-goers on Sunday when they took to the stage at BST Hyde Park.

The family band were on the Hyde Park Festival bill as special guests for Shania Twain’s headline set, which was hailed as “magnificent.”

The ’90s band, made up of brother and sister Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim, have just announced that their tour will end in November with a headline show at The O2.

The lead singer of the family band Andrea, 50, stood out with her age-defining look and wore a tiny bandeau dress with red ruffles.

Meanwhile, musical instruments prodigy Sharon, 54, showed off her figure in a tight, belted silver dress, while drummer Caroline, 51, wore a red leather vest.

Fans were quick to express their admiration for the band’s performance, writing on X, formerly Twitter: ‘At BST. The Corrs are a stunningly beautiful family,’;

‘The Corrs, on top form!’; ‘Awesome #thecorrs,’;

‘A great day to have a beer and listen to the Corrs. Wherever you are (I’m in Hyde Park for the Corrs and Shania Twain), have a beer today and listen to the Corrs.’

While the group were performing on Sunday, it was announced that they will be performing at The O2 in London as part of the ‘Talk On Corners’ UK and Ireland tour, which will hit the arenas later this year in November 2024.

All UK and Ireland tours will take place in November, with stops in Belfast, Manchester, Glasgow and Newcastle, and will conclude with a special headline performance at The O2 in London.

The Corrs will be joined by Australian pop star Natalie Imbruglia, who has previously performed at BST Hyde Park.

It came just days after Sharon claimed she was denied boarding a Ryanair flight to Dublin because she was carrying her violin.

The 54-year-old musician from Corrs shared a post on Instagram on Sunday, saying she felt “humiliated and in tears” during the incident.

Sharon, who has lived in Madrid since 2018, wrote that she had booked a Ryanair flight to Dublin, where she was travelling to rehearse for her upcoming tour with her sisters and brother.

‘Today I was booked on a @ryanair flight. I woke up at 6am, I wasn’t allowed on the flight because I had my violin with me. I was stuck in the airport for 7 hours,’ Sharon wrote on Instagram.

‘I had to go back home after looking for my checked luggage. Humiliated, angry and then crying as only a good woman can.’

‘Why did I go to Dublin? My home base, to rehearse, to go on tour! I am more than disappointed. Michael O’Leary, shame on you.’

Ryanair states on its website that passengers are ‘allowed to bring any music system on board, as long as it fits within the permitted cabin baggage space.’

‘For smaller musical equipment such as guitars or violins that exceed the dimensions of your carry-on baggage, you can choose to pay an additional seat fee. For this, you will need to purchase an additional flight ticket and seat.’

‘If your equipment does not fit within your hand luggage allowance and you do not wish to book an extra seat, you can choose to check it in for a fee.’

A Ryanair spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘This passenger was not refused travel from Madrid to Dublin (June 30).

‘This passenger’s violin exceeded the permitted carry-on baggage allowance on her flight and therefore she was required to pay standard baggage fees to place the violin in the aircraft hold.

“This passenger refused to pay the standard fare and chose not to travel on this flight.”
