Women have discovered a post-cleaning habit that most men admit they’ve never done before.
The conversation sparked on Reddit when a woman revealed that the last step in her cleaning routine involved leaving the newly redecorated room and re-entering it to see what it would look like through someone else’s eyes.
“Me and my girls were discussing that we should walk out and then go back into a room after cleaning it to see what it looked like to someone else. Do boys do this too?’ she wrote.
The thread was quickly flooded with comments from both men and women debating whether it was a “girl thing.”
“I do that for everything,” one woman wrote, before another added that they do it “every time without fail.”

One woman had a different opinion: ‘I’m a girl, but I don’t do this. After cleaning, I open a window and then go outside and back in to see if I still smell anything.’
Men also joined the debate.
‘I feel like it’s mainly a girl thing. It’s also a good way to check if the room smells nice,” said one.
“I bet a lot of guys won’t do this,” wrote another.
However, some men always check the room one last time to make sure it is spotless.
‘I’ll definitely do this. I like to admire a job well done,” said one man.
‘I’m a man and I do this. It’s also a good way to get an idea of what your home smells like. If you stay inside too long, you get used to the way things are. A perspective reset can do a lot of good,” wrote another.
A third added: ‘As a man, I walk around the room, especially the hall, and see what it looks like from other people’s perspectives when I enter to make sure I’ve done enough cleaning.’

Others admitted that their cleaning routine could improve.
“I only clean when my girlfriend is there, so she has proof that I do it,” one man said.
‘My wife and I don’t do that. We just look around standing in the room,” another wrote.
