‘How could you live with yourself?’: The Chase fans left furious as the victorious contestant cut £3,000 off his team’s winnings by taking a minus offer
Fans of The Chase were left furious after a contestant on Thursday night’s episode opted for the minus offer during his one-on-one trivia round.
When player Brian took the stage after a successful first round, he decided to accept the pursuer’s -£3000 offer.
This meant that if he managed to answer all questions correctly, this amount would be deducted from the team’s potential winnings.
Despite the contestant managing to return to his team and eventually winning the game show with a shared prize of £12,000, viewers couldn’t get over his low bid.
Many claimed he could have still won by taking a higher bid and took to social media even suggesting he owed his fellow players money for the decision.

First up against team chaser Paul Sinha was marketing assistant Patrick from Edinburgh, who managed to raise £8,000 in his cash builder round and bring it back to the team.
Strongly following was Linda, who also had a successful round, returning a solid £7,000 – bringing their total to £15,000.
Things seemed to go the same way as Irish contestant Brian got up to £6,000 in his cashbuilder.
But rather than stick to the amount he had earned, the Cork native decided to play it safe and take Paul’s minus £3,000 offer.
Managed to pass with flying colors, it was a bittersweet victory once the money was deducted and the team’s prize money fell to £12,000.
Since third contestant Afreena didn’t make it, it meant it was three to one for the final round.
The trio then took on Paul in the final chase and managed to split the money evenly meaning they went home with £4,000 each.
But believing it could have been a much more successful win had Brian not gone for the lower bid, some fans even suggested that he get less money than his teammates.
