However, their fortunes soon ran out after a huge underachievement that saw them answer only 12 questions correctly.
This comes shortly after viewers dubbed a contestant “the luckiest ever” after she completed a huge comeback to win £40,000 towards the prize.
Steph, 32, from Scotland, shocked viewers when she took the bold step of accepting a higher offer from Chaser, Mark Labbett.
The decision shocked fans given that Steph had made just £1,000 on her cash generator, struggling with her first round of questions.
Steph was also the third contestant to appear on that show, as the first two had already been eliminated, meaning there was no money in the prize pool, increasing the pressure for her to make it to the final Chase.
However, Steph completed a great comeback and reached the final with £40,000, much to the surprise of Chaser Mark and presenter Bradley Walsh.

After Steph, the fourth and final contestant, Zaki, also made it to the final, winning £7,000 for the prize fund.
As they headed into the final, Bradley, an impressed host, said: ‘I thought you were going to be beaten today but you played very, very well. A game of two halves.
The pair then completed their final run with a respectable 15 correct answers, but sadly The Beast caught them, meaning they went home with nothing.
Given Steph’s epic return, some fans were disappointed with the result, with one writing: “I wanted you guys to win so badly lovely couple, the Beast is a killjoy.”
