The Chase Australia contestant suffers an embarrassing slip of the tongue when he accidentally says he wants to “try cocaine” on a family show
A contestant on The Chase Australia suffered an embarrassing slip of the tongue this week when she accidentally said she wanted to “try cocaine.”
The woman laughed as soon as she realized her mistake after she told presenter Larry Emdur that she always wanted to try sporting croquet.
The accident occurred after he was asked the question: ‘In which lawn game is it a common tactic to remove opponents’ balls?’
A contestant on The Chase Australia had a major slip up on the TV show when she accidentally said she wanted to “try cocaine.”
When asked why he chose the croquet answer, he told Larry, “Well, I’ve always wanted to try cocaine,” before quickly realizing his mistake.
He then said, “I mean I’ve always wanted to try croquet because I imagine you can have a glass of wine while you go.”
Larry, who also chuckled after the mistake, replaced Andrew O’Keefe as host of the hit trivia show in 2021.
He laughed as soon as he realized his mistake: he wanted to tell host Larry Emdur that he always wanted to try sporting croquet.
O’Keefe has had a spectacular fall from grace in recent years, and in January he was filmed kicking and screaming in the back of a police van after being charged with assault.
It was just the latest in a long line of sad scandals for the 50-year-old former Deal or No Deal presenter, who used to be one of Australia’s most popular TV presenters.
Another new addition to the show, who made headlines for her young age last year, is 27-year-old Mara Lejins.
Larry, who also chuckled after the mistake, replaced Andrew O’Keefe as host of the hit trivia show in 2021.
He was joined by Chaser Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty, Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett and Issa ‘The Supernerd’ Schultz.
Woman’s Day reported that Ms Hegarty “expressed disappointment” at the decision to bring in Chasers in their 20s “who seem to be on Love Island”.
Ms Hegerty said she would be “mad” if she was replaced by one of the younger recruits because she “wouldn’t be as good as me”.
