The Chainsmoker’s Drew Taggert has confessed to a little tussle with T.I.

On Tuesday, one-half of the EDM-pop duo took to the group’s TikTok platform and revealed that he gave the rapper a kiss on the cheek, for which the rapper responded by punching him in the face.

‘T.I. just literally punched me in the face,’ Taggart, 32, confessed in the clip as band mate Alex Pall laughs in the background. ‘We’re in a vibe and I, like, gave him a kiss on the cheek— it was totally my fault.’

The following day T.I. (born Clifford Joseph Harris Jr.), 41, addressed the incident in an Instagram Live session not long after waking up and finding the clip that was sent to him.

Laughing with a smile on his face, he joked how ‘Y’all need me in the news cycle. Yeah man, I’m convinced every three weeks it’s something else.’

‘First of all, I love The Chainsmokers,’ he began as he rummaged through his cupboards in his kitchen for tea.

‘I have nothing negative to say, we just had to work through some stuff and we worked through it,’ the Live Your Life star says, adding, ‘We got to a much better place – you dig.. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Good guys.’

He continued on by sharing that he ‘doesn’t want to go into details’ about the incident, but stopped when he burst out laughing again.

‘There’s really not too much more to the story that would you have already heard,’ he explained once he stopped giggling.

While continuing to make his tea, he explained: ‘I think the most important thing to take away is afterward, we had a drink, we took a shot, and we moved on,’ he said.

And while T.I. never specifically mentioned the kiss or punch in the clip, he did say Taggart just took things too far and he didn’t want any ‘sugar’ from him.

‘Love The Chainsmokers, they make great music, you know,’ T.I. said. ‘I would love to have you guys on ExpediTIously if you can find the time to just sit down and chop it up. I’d love to kick it with you if y’all got some time on your hands. Let’s catch a vibe.’
