The ‘cannibal’ who ‘served human flesh to friends at barbecue’: Shocking story is unearthed 25 years after his ‘cook-outs’
A convicted child molester has been accused of serving human meat to his neighbors and telling them it was deer meat.
Nathaniel Bar-Jonah, of Worcester, Massachusetts, served his neighbors what he called “little boy pot pie” and “French fried boy” at barbecues at his home in 1999, police found.
He is believed to have served the human flesh in pies, burgers, stews, chili and spaghetti, and when told that his dishes had a ‘peculiar taste’, he told friends that he had made them with venison, to which he ‘ had hunted, killed, butchered and packed up single-handedly.
Bar-Jonah was arrested a year later and during a search of his home, police discovered recipes containing child body parts.
The man has been fascinated by the taste of human flesh since he was six, and according to Metro, he would pick at his scabs until he bled.

Prosecutors charged inmate Bar-Jonah on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, with the 1996 kidnapping and murder of 10-year-old Zachary Ramsay in Great Falls, Mont.. Nathaniel Bar-Jonah, of Worcester, Massachusetts, is accused of serving his neighbors what he called “little boy pot pie” and “french fry boy” during barbecues at his home.
He was also described as a “voracious eater” who weighed more than 300 pounds.
At the age of seven, he lured a five-year-old girl to his basement and tried to strangle her.
As a teenager, he committed horrific crimes, including impersonating a police officer to kidnap an eight-year-old boy whom he sexually assaulted and strangled.
For the next twenty years, he regularly posed as a police officer to lure children back to his home.
In 1996, a schoolboy named Zachary Ramsay disappeared on his way to school, around the same time that Bar-Jonah was hosting barbecues for his neighbors and serving up “venison.”
Zachary Xerxes “Zach” Ramsay (born December 18, 1985) was a boy who went missing on his way to school in 1996. He is believed to be the victim of suspected serial killer Nathaniel Bar-Jonah. Bar-Jonah was charged with his kidnapping and murder, although the case was later dismissed because Zach’s mother believed her son was still alive. Despite this, Bar-Jonah is widely believed to be responsible for his murder, and Zach has been declared legally dead
However, it was later discovered that the man did not own a gun and financial records showed that he had not done any significant shopping after Ramsay’s disappearance.
During the period of Ramsay’s disappearance, Bar-Jonah also had a part-time kitchen job at Malmstrom Air Force Base and another at a Hardee’s fast food restaurant in downtown Great Falls, Montana.
It is believed that he used his position at these two jobs to get rid of evidence by giving it to unsuspecting soldiers on the military base and to customers at the fast food restaurant.
However, in Bar-Jonah’s apartment, detectives found a number of recipes using children’s body parts with titles such as “pot pie for little boy,” “frying child” and phrases such as “lunch is served on the patio with roasted child.” and “Barbecue bee sum young fella.”
In his diaries, Bar-Jonah also referred to serving these recipes to neighbors.
Although Bar-Jonah was never convicted of Ramsay’s kidnapping and murder, he is still believed responsible and is also suspected of committing additional murders in Montana due to police findings at his residences.
After his arrest in 2000, he was sentenced to 130 years in prison without the possibility of parole for the kidnapping, aggravated assault and sexual assault of several minors.
He died in prison in 2008.
