The Boys season 4 will not make you feel better about the state of democracy

Trump has left the White House, but… The boys is still dealing with the political fallout from that — especially the mess Homelander (Antony Starr) created in Season 3 when he lasered someone's face off.

As we see in the trailer, which premiered on CCXP, things have become even more dire and the stakes in the world of The boys. People are tearing each other apart during protests – the pro-Starlight (Erin Moriarty) camp against the pro-Homelander camp – and people are itching for a fight, fighting and jumping out of windows. As a voiceover (apparently) instructs Homelander on how to overcome the world's emotional ruin so that he can be the one to swoop in and save the world: “All democracies fail because… people damn stupid.”

Suffice it to say, The boys season 4 will once again follow the cynical track in terms of its political commentary – especially with Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) on the presidential ticket as VP (and likely downplay the events that took place at God U at the end of Gen V season 1) and still under Homelander's thumb.

In any case, Butcher (Karl Urban) seems to already be on the case. And now it looks like he's reporting to someone about what his team is up to. We don't know exactly WHO who he still talks to, but the mysterious man is played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who seems like a perfect complement to the charisma The boys is already messing around.

The new season is still “coming soon” according to the trailer. Starring Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and Cameron Crovetti. Besides Morgan, The boys season 4 also features Susan Heyward and Valorie Curry.
