The first teaser for The boys season 4 has been released – and it looks like another cheeky and hilarious entry in the hit Prime Video series.
Unveiled at CCXP Brazil 2023 before being released online minutes later, The boys The first trailer for season 4 is packed with everything we've come to expect from the hit Prime Video show.
There are all-new Supes to love and loathe, the reveal of Jeffrey Dean Morgan's mysterious character, the battle lines between Homelander and Starlight, and plenty of other diabolical events – including a telling crossover with Gen Vone of the The boys' two current spin-offs.
According to a press release from Amazon Studios, it sounds like The boysThe latest installment will be even more gruesome and exciting than what has come before. How come? Read the official season 4 synopsis: “In season four, the world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscular thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power.
Butcher, who has only months to live, has lost Becca's son and his job as leader of The Boys. The rest of the team is tired of his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they must find a way to work together and save the world before it's too late.”
We already know that The boys season 4 will release on Prime Video sometime in 2024. Although the reveal of this teaser confirms that it will be released in the next twelve months, we still don't know when that will be.
But that's not all we know about season 4 of one of the best Prime Video shows out there. First, those of us who have seen it Gen V's first eight episodes – read our Gen V season 1 ending explained article for more – will be aware that this live-action, college-based spin-off has set up some interesting storylines that will carry over to The boys'fourth season.
We also have information about some of the new characters we'll see in season 4. The two new members of the Seven – Sister Sage and Firecracker, seen in the teaser – are brand new additions to The boys' Super lineup, which means they didn't appear at all in the graphic novel series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
Of course, there are other mysteries to be solved in season 4, which we don't get much information about in the first trailer. Who plays Morgan? How is Black Noir back from the dead? What is Neuman's real endgame? And how far will the increasingly deranged Homelander go in the name of “keeping the peace”? Hopefully we'll get answers to this and many more – including how many months Billy has left to live – when The boys season 4 debuts on one of the world's top streaming services.
