‘The Boys’ actress Erin Moriarty fires back at Megyn Kelly over allegations she is ‘obsessed’ with plastic surgery – as she slams former Fox News anchor for ‘clickbait seeking’ with decade-old photo
Actress Erin Moriarty fired back at Megyn Kelly’s accusations that she is “obsessed” with plastic surgery, accusing the radio host of “bullying” her with “disgustingly false” comments about her appearance.
“We are all subject to bullying throughout our lives, but I am shocked,” Moriarty, 29, began in a lengthy Instagram post, saying Kelly used an image from before her 21st birthday for “clickbait searching.”
“I got my makeup done that day and it involves major contouring and I remember leaving and feeling beautiful,” she continued. ‘I saw the comments, devastating enough that I just turned my comments off. But this becomes intimidation. This is going to be fake news.”
It comes days after Kelly sparked a backlash with a recent podcast appearance, where she said of Moriarty: ‘She’s got Kim Kardashian’s lips, she’s made her nose so skinny it looks like a pencil now… I think it’s a sign of mental illness.’
Actress Erin Moriarty recently shared this image on her Instagram, prompting accusations from Megyn Kelly that she “completely changed her face” with plastic surgery. In response, Moriarty said the photo was taken ten years ago and that her changed appearance was only due to “contouring.”
Moriarty shared her response nearly a week after Kelly’s controversial podcast comments, saying she had “no idea what was going on” amid the social media frenzy as she endured “one of the most challenging weeks of my life.”
“And I specifically thought that when I emerged from this period — so stressed that I’ve barely been able to eat and sleep — I thought, OK, I’m going to emerge this 10 pounds thinner and the verbal abuse/accusations are going to fly,” she went Through.
While Moriarty said she expected viewers to suspect she was on drugs or hit her with “a flippant ‘just eat a burger’ comment,” she was stunned by the hostile response that came instead.
“You learn to become Teflon and move on – I had NO idea what was going on this time,” she said in the post.
“To receive a message about a disgustingly false, counterproductive, in a way ironically misogynistic video of Megyn Kelly commenting on the way (sic) – to learn the widespread nature of this has horrified me.”
Although Kelly claimed in her appearance that the image of Moriarty, which the actress recently shared on her Instagram before deleting it, was from “a year ago,” Moriarty said it was actually much older.
She said the photo was “actually taken about ten years ago before I was of legal drinking age,” and called on Kelly to “maybe do some research that would take 30 seconds.”
“It’s appalling how completely uninformed, inaccurate and clickbait-seeking the people we follow and consider informed are,” Moriarty said in the angry post, which contained a number of grammatical errors.

Moriarty, 29, branded Kelly’s comments about her appearance as ‘completely misinformed, inaccurate and looking for clickbait’
The comments in question came on Kelly’s podcast with journalist Michael Knowles earlier this month, where she accused Moriarty of “completely changing her face” with plastic surgery.
She made the comments in response to Moriarty sharing the supposedly decade-old photo this month, while Kelly continued: “She has Kim Kardashian’s lips. She has made her nose so thin that it now resembles a pencil.
‘She has what looks to me like cheek implants.
‘More and more young women are doing this.
‘It’s not about an objection to plastic surgery, it’s about an obsession with turning yourself into a fake version of yourself… I think it’s a sign of a mental illness.
‘It’s extremely disturbing. It’s just a huge turn off for me. “I really want to get into the heads of these young girls and say, ‘Please don’t do this,’” she said.
In the same podcast, Kelly also took issue with Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez’s recent look after she shocked fans by stepping out in Milan last week in a sheer lace Dolce & Gabbana dress that exposed her backside.
“I’m sorry, she looks like a whore. You look like a whore! And you’re dating (one of) the richest men in the world. Try to be a little stylish. Does everything have to be a revelation of your clearly overvalued assets?’ she smoked.

Sanchez and fiancé Jeff Bezos in Milan this week. Kelly slammed the outfit and said she ‘needed a little lesson’
While Sánchez has yet to respond to the comments, likely spending time on Bezos’ $500 million superyacht, Moriarty showed less restraint.
She concluded her scathing statement by saying that she had effectively disabled her account, but left it active so fans could read the message.
“Consider it deactivated,” she said. “Social media was my ability to connect with fans… But I decide to put my energy into my work.”
“I am shocked by the response, the limiting assumptions and the aforementioned video which is a prime example of such harassment.
‘It broke my heart. You broke my heart. You have lost the privilege of this account.’
Amid her own “personal situation,” she concluded that no one knows “what anyone is going through,” adding, “Shame on you, Megyn Kelly.”
