The football boots Lionel Messi will wear in what will be the final World Cup of his iconic career have been revealed.

He came closest to winning football’s biggest trophy in 2014, when Argentina were on the wrong side after a 1-0 defeat to Germany.

Argentina, who won the Copa America last year, is one of the big favorites to win it all in Qatar this winter.

And they hope that the color of Messi’s boots for the World Cup will reflect how they are performing in Qatar.

The boots have blue and white details that represent the colors of the Argentinian flag

The Adidas X Speedportal shoe is primarily gold, but with blue and white details to represent the colors of the Argentine flag – along with a black stripe on the back.

They are part of a package titled Leyenda, which translates to legend in Spanish.

Messi will wear the special model for the first time against Saudi Arabia on November 22 and throughout the rest of the World Cup.

In addition to Saudi Arabia, Argentina will meet Mexico and Poland in Group D.

In October, Messi told Argentinian journalist Sebastian Vignolo: “This will definitely be my last World Cup. The decision has been made.

Messi is playing his fifth World Cup in Qatar and has scored six goals in the previous four editions of the tournament.

Four of those came in 2014 when the PSG star led Argentina to the final, where they were beaten 1–0 by Germany after extra time.

Messi announced his retirement from international football in 2016 after losing to Chile in the Copa America final, but he quickly reversed his decision and has remained captain of the team ever since.
