The Block’s ‘love rat’ Ricky Recard lashes out at the judges for a very surprising reason
The Block’s Ricky Recard lashed out at the judges for a very surprising reason on Monday after they criticized the bathroom that he and his buddy Haydn left unfinished.
The ‘love rat’, who was unable to finish his bathroom last week due to problems with his contractor, was disappointed that the jury didn’t trash him.
“It feels like someone walked away at some point and couldn’t go on at all. If that’s the case, I really feel sorry for the boys,” said judge Darren Palmer, while Marty Fox and Shaynna Blaze agreed.
However, Ricky, 34, was surprisingly disappointed with their understanding attitude, as he was eager to be reprimanded for a task he had not performed properly.
“That’s 2024 for you. You get participation awards even if you screw everything up. It’s like, ‘At least they cleaned up.’ No, roast me, dammit!” Ricky told the cameras.
‘I thought we deserved a roast. I really wanted someone to laugh at us and say, “You’re a disgrace, mate. You’ve let your team and country down, pull your head in.”‘
However, Ricky was later ‘pleased’ to hear that the judges had given his bathroom work a score of 4/30, saying cheerfully: ‘I think that’s the lowest score I’ve ever got for anything!’
Last week, Ricky and Haydn had to fire their contractor in one of the most shocking scenes of the renovation series to date, resulting in the work not being completed.

The Melbourne friends were left devastated when foreman Dan inspected their property and told them that their contractor’s water-resistant finish did not meet building regulations.
After being told it would have to be redone, the furious Yellow Team confronted their manual laborer Miller and bluntly told him his services were no longer required.
“The way the last week or two has been going is a fucking disaster. The wall situation is a disgrace, it’s not on,” Ricky and Haydn told him.
“I don’t know how we’re going to get out of this, Miller. How are we going to get out of this?” they asked him, before the builder tried to blame another subcontractor for not consulting with him.
This led to Ricky and Haydn firing Miller from the project, leading to a tense confrontation on the radio, where Miller was told that he had betrayed their trust.

This came after Ricky felt forced to hit back at accusations from his abandoned ex-girlfriend Lauren Smith that he was a ‘love rat’.
The controversial reality star made headlines this week after it was revealed that he dumped Lauren just before a dream trip abroad to pursue a relationship with married makeup artist Erin Lee, whom he met while filming the reality show.
Ricky said on Tuesday’s Fifi, Fev & Nick that he was shocked that Lauren would air the former couple’s dirty laundry in public.
The curious admission came after presenter Brendan Fevola broached the sensitive subject, with Ricky saying it was “a bit harsh” to be called a “love rat”.
