The Block’s Jesse and Paige have revealed why they decided to call off their wedding after leaving the Channel Nine show.
The couple, who were dubbed “villains” on the series and left in September after producers intervened during a heated argument, opened up to Women’s Day Monday about postponing their wedding.
The Blockheads’ wedding was planned for December but has now been canceled due to their ‘very hectic’ year on the show.
Paige, 28, explained that they needed more time to plan the special day after their busy year.
“The year has been very hectic and we just didn’t have the mental capacity to give the wedding the attention it deserves,” she said.
Her fiancé Jesse, 30, added that postponing the wedding was a matter of focus.
‘For us it’s not just about a wedding, but about actually marrying each other. And we felt like we couldn’t fully focus on how the year has gone so far,” he said.
The couple also insisted they emerged from their chaotic time on the show stronger than ever.

‘Our relationship was never in question. But we can totally understand why people would think that,” Paige admitted.
Paige and Jesse announced late last month that they had called off their wedding in a heartfelt note to their guests.
The engaged couple sent their wedding guests a sad note saying the ceremony was off.
The couple, who were dubbed “villains” on the series and left in September after producers intervened during a heated argument, opened up about postponing their wedding on Monday.
“Dear friends and family, life, in its unpredictable course, has presented us with unforeseen circumstances that have forced us to postpone our upcoming wedding on December 12,” the note began.
The couple added that they decided now was not the right time to exchange vows and postponed the event to a later, unspecified time.
“While we have eagerly looked forward to celebrating our love and commitment with all of you, we believe it is essential to recognize when a moment is not right. This is not the case this year.
‘We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment this news may cause. A new date for our party has not yet been announced, but we will keep you informed of any changes.’
The couple’s time on the show was marked by infighting and bickering, as they constantly – and loudly – disagreed on effective home renovation strategies.
After seeking professional help, the couple cited mental health stress as they gave up their place in the competition, with their departure sparking a conversation about the show’s healthcare policies.
