The Block ‘villains’ Kristy and Brett launch scathing tirade after devastating auction day result: ‘Australia got what they wanted’
Tensions ran high during the nail-biting grand finale of auction day on Sunday, with married couple Kristy and Brett lashing out after making only a small profit on their home.
The couple, both 34, seemed heartbroken when they learned their home sold for just $3,035,000 – just $65,000 above the reserve price.
“Australia got what they wanted, so!” Kristy snapped.
“I hate to sound ungrateful, $65,000 is huge for some people, but we gave up three months of great jobs, that’s not enough,” Brett added.
The pair then went to meet their fellow contestants and Kristy shocked them by lashing out as they applauded her and made a scene for them.

‘Why would you clap? Sorry everyone, but our agent messed up the bed, they messed it up for us,” an irate Kristy raged.
The pair were touted as this year’s ‘villains’ due to their feud with Eliza and Liberty.
The couple has been outspoken about the pair of friends throughout the season, accusing them of “cheating” and receiving preferential treatment from producers.
Meanwhile, fellow Blockheads Leah and Ash were left equally devastated when bids on their house failed to reach the reserve price, meaning it was passed on in the hope it could be sold later.

Elsewhere in the episode, Steph and Gian were the runaway winners, with their house selling for an incredible $5 million.
They walked away with winnings of $1.65 million plus $100,000 in prize money, bringing their total earnings to a record $1.75 million.
Steph and Gian’s House 4 was the first to be auctioned, and it was an exciting time for the couple, who called their $3.35 million reserve “hell” and feared they wouldn’t make any money from the sale.
Bidding quickly reached $4 million thanks to serial bidder Danny Wallace, but the promotion was halted after a woman fainted during the auction and was taken to hospital.

After the break, the bidding stalled at $4 million, before immediately shooting up by a million dollars to $5 million – and the hammer fell: House 4 was sold.
The $5 million sale netted the couple $1.65 million in profit, with Steph and Gian hugging and breaking down in tears as they called the money “life-changing.”
The house was sold to Adrian Portelli, known as ‘Mr Lambo’, who said he wanted to prove he was a real bidder after controversy last season.
“After last year’s deficit, I had to prove that I am not a dummy bidder and came out hard and strong,” he said.
