The Block viewers turn on Mimi: Fans blow up married star’s Instagram calling her a ‘home wrecker’ over ‘flirtgate’ scandal

One of The Block contestants at the center of the show’s dramatic ‘flirtgate’ scandal has been blasted on social media.

In explosive scenes in Monday’s episode, contestant Kylie Barker dramatically flew home to Cairns after her husband Brad was overheard with fellow contestant Mimi Belperio.

In the wake of Kylie’s shocking departure, Mimi initially claimed on Tuesday’s episode that she had no idea Kylie had left, before claiming she didn’t even find Brad’s comments flirty.

But it appears Australia is not on Mimi’s side, with legions of Block fans flocking to her social media to condemn the ‘home wrecker’.

One follower urged producers to release audio of the flirty footage that aired on Monday.

‘Release the tapes! There was more than just flirting going on, you dirty dawgs,” they wrote, referring to Brad and Mimi’s bickering.

Although it was Brad who suffered the most consequences, one Blockhead argued that Mimi was not blameless in the situation.

‘It takes two. What was Mimi doing there, talking in her baby voice and drinking at midnight, where was her husband?’ they asked.

“Why didn’t she work on her own house or at home with her husband.”

It wasn’t just Mimi’s alleged flirtation with Brad that angered fans, with many pointing out Mimi’s performance, or lack thereof, on the show.

“Mimi would have to be the least dedicated block contestant I’ve ever seen on this show,” said one follower. “Is she doing something?”

Another condemned the controversial contestant in a lengthy rant.

‘Mimi publicly shames her husband for having emotions, threatens to leave, lies about the sisters not telling them they are flippers, sleeps all night while she has to help her husband, gets mad at him when they don’t finish a room (despite being the only one working all night),” they wrote.

While viewers made no bones about it when it came to Mimi, they seemed to sympathize with her husband Kristian.

Kristian stood next to his wife during Tuesday’s episode and said, “I don’t think Mimi has to regret going out and having a good time.”

“As for the comment, if Mimi wasn’t uncomfortable with what was said, I have no reason to be.”

One follower accused Mimi of disrespecting her husband, writing: ‘Kristian deserves so much better. Someone who respects him.

Poor Kristian,” another sympathized. “I hope as he watches this he realizes he’s better off on his own!”

The scandal started when Mimic went to Brad and Kylie’s house alone for a casual drink.

While she and Brad talked, Kylie took a nap nearby — and Brad, in his own words, crossed a line.

‘I’ve made some pretty inappropriate comments. “I was flirting with Mimi…Kylie heard them, and understandably she’s quite upset,” he later explained.

During a subsequent phone debrief with her mother, Kylie revealed exactly what happened during her husband and Mimi’s conversation.

‘Flirting, and talking very inappropriately. How many damn chances have I given him? Over and over,” she told her mother.

“Oh, you know I would follow your OnlyFans,” the electrician and plumber allegedly said to Mimi, within earshot of his “napping” wife.

Kylie immediately left the show to return at the height of Tuesday’s episode, setting the stage for a fiery confrontation on Wednesday.
