The Block star Scott Cam doubles his money as he sells a farmhouse he bought seven years ago for a whopping $3.1m

Scott Cam has managed to double his money after selling a farm in NSW for $3.1 million last week.

The 61-year-old star of Channel Nine’s The Block bought the 720-acre property in 2016 for $1.35 million, reports real estate.com.au.

Located near Mudgee, northwest of Newcastle, the cattle ranch known as ‘Derowen’ sits at the top of Barigan Valley.

The classic house with four bedrooms and two bathrooms has a wide veranda and a spacious living room with a fireplace.

There is also an extra-large kitchen, a built-in swimming pool and an old-style ‘conservatory’.

Other features include a mudroom, storage area and utility room.

It also features fine soil and an excellent water supply and comes with steel cattle yards and barns.

News of Cam’s recent sale comes after the fan favorite announced earlier this month that he was offloading his beautiful home in Gisborne, Victoria.

Built in 2022 with The Block: Tree Change participants, Cam has listed the four-bedroom apartment for $4.1-$4.3 million, which was the price guide set at last year’s auction.

While most participants failed to sell their Gisborne homes for that price last year, Scott seems confident his renovation will fly off the market for millions.

Regular Block bidder Frank Valentic predicts the media personality will have no problem finding a buyer for his circa-1866 home.

‘I think when [Scott] it was renovated, it was very popular. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t popular again. It had that period style that the other houses didn’t have,” Frank said.

He added that the house, which sits on 10 acres, “looks like a real country house” and was named “the best house” on last year’s season of The Block.

Scott’s home, also known as the “Camalot,” features a beautiful fountain, a 3D-printed concrete cabana next to the pool, and an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven.

It also includes a huge kitchen with a reclaimed wood island bench and butcher block, two wine refrigerators and a large butler’s pantry.

A wraparound veranda and beautiful landscaped gardens will be the talk of potential buyers, as will the separate home office and studio.

Last year’s Block Auction ended in disaster when only two houses managed to exceed the reserve price of $4.3 million.

Omar Slaimankhel and Ozman ‘Oz’ Abu Malik managed to make a record profit of $1.6 million for their house at auction.
