The Block star Courtney McInnes breaks down in tears over Domain challenge results while listening to sad music in the car

Block contestant Courtney McInnes wallowed on Thursday evening as she burst into tears as she came ‘penultimate’ in the Domain Listing challenge.

The furniture designer, 32, was seen sobbing as she listened to Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars while taking a ride without partner Grant Freeman.

Courtney ended up second last in the Domain Listing and Buyer’s Jury standings, shouting at producers that her results were “getting worse” despite coming second in Sunday’s room reveals and winning $10,000 for her hallway.

‘The competition, yes, you are renovating a house, but the most important thing is that you are mentally exhausted. You don’t feel like your usual self. You really don’t do that,” she said.

After crying in the car and de-stressing with some sad music, Courtney called her parents for some support.

‘I feel stupid, like I can’t do my job. I’m in the draft and…’ Courtney said to her mother and father as she broke down again.

‘No, don’t feel that way. Don’t feel that way. You’re good at what you do,” her father said.

“I just feel like we don’t get that much recognition and now I’m doubting myself. Is someone going to buy our house? I don’t know,” she added.

Courtney and Grant, 30, came second in the Domain Listings and Buyers Jury Challenge on Wednesday night when their House 2 failed to impress 100 potential buyers.

Meanwhile, friends Ricky Recard and Haydn Wise from House 3 took home the win and the hefty $50,000 cash prize.

It comes after tensions emerged between Grant and House 1 builder Jack on Monday evening.

Grant tried to steal one of the Venetian plasterers working for Maddy and Charlotte Harry, but their builder Jack objected to the underhanded tactic.

The carpenter put his foot down and brazenly refused to lend trades to House 2 after Grant and partner Courtney refused the girls’ help the day before.

Sisters Maddy, 24, and Charlotte, 22, were left one plasterer short the day before when one of their tradies didn’t have the correct insurance papers.

Grant and Courtney refused to help the nurses working right next to them, but foreman Dan managed to save the day by flying in a plasterer he knew.

Courtney took the opportunity to slyly ask the plasterer to come and work for her and Grant, and went behind Maddy and Charlotte’s backs to get a quote from him.
