The Block: Scott Cam vows to ‘help out’ Tom and Sarah-Jane after auction flop

Block host Scott Cam says he will do everything he can to help Tom Calleja and Sarah-Jane Wilson after their smashing result on auction day.

The 59-year-old is devastated that the hard-working team’s efforts were not rewarded when their house went under the hammer, and wants to make things right.

He told women’s Day the show’s producers are considering giving the pair a “second chance,” suggesting they’ll be returning for another season.

“We’ll find something for them to do and give them a second chance at the job,” he revealed.

Scotty said Tom and Sarah-Jane were “probably the hardest working couple” on this year’s season of The Block.

He found their “bogan” attitude endearing and felt “crushed” when their house sold for barely more than minimum price.

Tom and Sarah-Jane came in third in the finals and walked away with a profit of just $20,000 — the lowest income since two homes made $10,000 in 2014.

Their property had a reserve price of $4.08 million and sold for $4.1 million.

After the disappointing result, the couple made the difficult decision to sell the Ford they won at the show to make ends meet.

After the finale, the couple took to Instagram to tell their fans that they had no choice but to sell their car to make up for the lost revenue.

“Unfortunately for Tom, we are going to sell the Ford,” they told their 35,000 followers.

Sarah-Jane also shared: 9Entertainment the pair had spent a lot of money to fund their stint on The Block, so they were now in the red.
