The Block rumoured to be shaking up its format

The Block is rumored to be changing its format as the hit show Channel Nine prepares to film a new season.

This year’s season of The Block will begin filming soon in Hampton East, Melbourne, and plans are already underway to move production to the country of Victoria in 2024.

An informant told the herald sun On Sunday the producers were reportedly considering potential properties in Hepburn Springs, 114 km northwest of Melbourne.

The houses sit on half-acre blocks, significantly smaller than the 10-acre Gisborne estates the fools worked on in 2023.

However, filming for this year’s season of the hit revamp show will kick off in suburban Melbourne, meaning the producers could pick a location in the city next year as well.

The series returned to the Melbourne metropolitan area this year after undergoing an “ecological shift” in 2022 by filming in the small town of Gisborne, 42km from Melbourne.

A source told the Herald Sun on Sunday that the growers were reportedly looking at potential properties in Hepburn Springs, 114km north-west of Melbourne.

Meanwhile, production on the 2023 season of The Block is almost underway.

Last week, dealers and growers ground around five classic brick homes, reportedly purchased for a total of $14.3 million.

With pre-filming preparation underway on blocks ranging from 575 square meters to 703 square meters, it appears that a second story was already being added to one of the houses.

The houses all appear similar in style and construction with one, the most expensive of the bunch being purchased for $3.5 million, featuring a quaint front yard.

However, filming for this year’s season of the hit revamp show is about to begin in suburban Melbourne, which means the producers could pick a location in the city next year as well.

The contestants will not be as far apart as last year on the sprawling Macedon Ranges in Gisborne, as this year’s properties are closely separated by border fences.

The new season of Channel Nine’s hit renovation show will start filming in a few days at houses 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 on Charming Street.

They were acquired by MicJoy Pty Ltd, a company owned by Nine, in separate off-market deals for a whopping $14.3 million.

The most expensive of the bunch, 20 Charming St, cost a whopping $3.5 million when it was purchased last July.
