The Block buyer rivals Adrian Portelli and Danny Wallis tipped for another bidding war as they both eye off House 5 during on-site visit

Block veteran buyer Danny Willis will face off against newcomer billionaire Adrian Portelli in another bidding war this season.

The rivals made headlines in 2022 when Adrian made his debut in the renovation series with an aggressive bidding style that prompted Danny to pay an eye-watering $5.6 million for Omar and Oz’s properties – leading to a record win.

Now there’s speculation that the 20th anniversary season will see a similar nail-biting auction, as both Adrian and Danny revealed they had their eye on Mimi and Kristian’s House 5.

The entrepreneur, 35, and philanthropist stepped up to the on-site buyer jury during Wednesday night’s episode, where potential buyers are given tours of each contestant’s home and asked to cast an anonymous vote for their favorite.

When producers asked Adrian which house stood out to him as a potential purchase, he said, “Personally, I like House 5 just because the floor plan is a little different than the others.”

Danny wholeheartedly agreed when asked the same question.

‘Yes, House 5. It’s bigger. The rooms are bigger,” he said.

Adrian and Danny entered into a modest bidding war during the 2023 season, with Adrian walking away with three houses, while serial bidder Danny walked away with none.

Steph and Gian were the runaway winners when their house was sold to Adrian for a shocking $5 million.

The childhood sweethearts walked away with winnings of $1.65 million plus $100,000 in prize money, bringing their total earnings to a record $1.75 million.

Danny quickly got the offer up to $4 million, well over the $3.35 million reserve, but Adrian, known as ‘Mr Lambo’, stepped in and pushed it to $5 million.

Although it resulted in a record win, the bidding war was nothing compared to Adrian’s debut in 2022, when he and Danny found themselves in a heated confrontation due to Omar and Oz’s physique.

Adrian, who arrived at The Block auction in a yellow Lamborghini, opened the bidding for the friends’ House 5 for $4.5 million.

His aggressive bidding style saw Danny pay $5,666,666.66 for the house, making the friends from western Sydney instant millionaires with a total profit of $1,686,666.66 – at the time this was the biggest win in the 18 -year history of the show.

After their win, some fans speculated that the auction was ‘dodgy’ and that Adrian had been ‘set up’ to force Danny to spend more, but an equal number of viewers refuted this, saying the boys had won fairly and calling the criticism ‘racist’. ‘.

“Personally, I like House 5 just because the floor plan is a little bit different than the others,” Adrian said of House 5, while Danny agreed, “Yes, House 5. It’s bigger. The rooms are bigger’
