Given Daylesford’s national recognition as a tourism hotspot, there is a possibility that The Block could venture to famous tourist haven Phillip Island.

The Block is facing a time crunch as filming for its 20th season is set to begin in early March.

Earlier this month the show abandoned its plans to build in Daylesford due to complications in the planning approval process.

It comes as a member of The Block’s production team recently revealed a surprising method to ‘weed out’ lazy potential contestants.

Price told news.com.au that applicants had to pay special attention to the lengthy application form, which is designed to exclude those who have not applied.

‘It is a very rigorous application, there is a reason why we do that. It’s a basic check. “If you don’t get through, you probably won’t finish renovating The Block,” he said.

Price then said that future contestants should maintain a positive attitude during their time on the show so that the negative moments don’t weigh them down.

Price said successful contestants simply have to be themselves on camera while the audience connects with a person they know is real.
