The Block 2024 implodes amid flirtgate scandal – as the stunning comment that ‘destroyed’ Brad and Kylie’s marriage is revealed

The Block’s ‘flirtgate’ scandal exploded on screen last night, with contestant Brad Baker admitting ‘I just single-handedly destroyed my family’ in the wake of comments he made to another man’s wife.

In stunning scenes, Brad’s wife Kylie Baker left the production and apparently flew home to Cairns after hearing her husband ‘flirting’ with another contestant.

The scandal started when Mimi, who is married to Kristian on the show, went to Brad and Kylie’s house alone for a casual drink.

While she and Brad talked, Kylie took a nap nearby — and Brad, in his own words, crossed a line.

‘I’ve made some pretty inappropriate comments. “I was flirting with Mimi…Kylie heard them, and understandably she’s quite upset,” he later explained.

During a subsequent phone debrief with her mother, Kylie revealed exactly what happened during her husband and Mimi’s conversation.

‘Flirting, and talking very inappropriately. How many damn chances have I given him? Over and over,” she told her mother.

Kylie then revealed one of the devastating comments Brad made during the flirty conversation.

“Oh, you know I would follow your OnlyFans,” the electrician and plumber allegedly said to Mimi, within earshot of his “napping” wife.

She also claimed that Brad “whined” about her during the conversation.

“What, he’s complaining about you to other people?” Kylie’s stunned mother asked. “Well, it’s happened before and it will continue to happen.”

The fallout from the scandal was both swift and stunning.

Kylie immediately left the show, with host Scott Cam announcing that the mother-of-four left the construction site the next morning, “and she has never been seen since.”

“We found her car, blocked the phone, all the signage… we did everything we could to locate her, but she hasn’t been seen,” he said.

The on-screen drama unfolded days after Kristian and Mimi broke their silence on the scandal exclusively to Daily Mail Australia.

The Adelaide couple confirmed on Sydney’s Channel Nine Upfronts on Thursday that the flirting had indeed taken place, but insisted they had put the infidelity behind them.

The scandal involved Mimi becoming involved with fellow Blockhead Brad Baker on set, behind the backs of their partners Kristian and Kylie.

“Our relationship is stronger than ever,” Kristian claimed when asked about the scandal.

Although Mimi and Kristian were able to work through their marital issues, Brad and Kylie did not and quit halfway through the show, and their relationship status is currently unknown.

“The thing about the show is that everything we’ve done has happened in the past. We’ve learned from everything we’ve been through, and we’re better for it,” Mimi began.

“So if it happens, it happened in the past. Yes. I don’t really care.’

She then claimed that there was no tension between them and Kylie and Brad, noting that their rivals were not present because it was difficult for the couple to find a nanny for their four children.

‘There is no tension. We saw them last week and I talked to him. Yes. But there’s nothing wrong.’

Mimi said their participation in the renovation series had been an important learning experience.

“When I came out of The Block, I thought, ‘Okay, let’s think about our experience and what we learned from it,’” Mimi said.

The couple’s admission comes after their co-stars Charlotte and Maddy appeared to confirm gossip that ‘something happened’ between two of the show’s contestants during filming.

The Blockheads made the revelation during an appearance on HIT WA’s Allan & Carly Show last week.

Host Carly Portch asked the couple about online rumors about Mimi and Brad.

“Look, I think everything will be revealed in the next few weeks,” Charlotte, 22, replied, adding: “I think we’ll have to stay tuned for that.”

Maddy, 24, added: ‘We don’t want to speak about it specifically because people’s real lives are at stake and we obviously weren’t there so we don’t know the full details.

‘But yes… something happened. We’re probably not the right people to talk about it.’

Fans will be curious to see how the drama plays out after Kristian, 31, and Mimi, 28, recently confessed that their appearance on the Channel Nine renovation show put serious strain on their marriage.
