The Block 2023: New judge Marty Fox cops a brutal spray from contestant Liberty’s mother after the ‘disgusting real estate agent’ brings her to tears

The Block’s new judge, Marty Fox, was able to face the ire of Liberty’s mom on Monday night after he brutally criticized the contestant’s style skills.

The real estate agent, who has temporarily taken over from Neale Whitaker, brought Liberty to tears with his harsh remarks during the studio room unveiling.

And the 34-year-old producer’s mother was not in the mood and called the real estate guru an ‘a**hole’ when she was on the phone with her distraught daughter.

Marty harshly criticized the Melbournite when he said an empty granny flat would have improved her styling.

After losing all confidence in her styling choices, the fan favorite promptly burst into tears during the next episode when she called her mom for support.

“I just feel so overwhelmed and I don’t know what I’m doing,” she sobbed into the phone as she sat in the car, away from prying eyes.

His mother quickly intervened with comforting words, saying, “Oh, Lib, this is so hard for you. You are so tired and exhausted. Don’t lose faith in yourself.’

However, nothing seemed to work as Liberty continued to cry and express how “overwhelmed” and “out of the depths” she now felt with her styling choices.

It was at this point that her mother snapped and let go of Marty for his harsh words to her daughters Liberty and Eliza, who are also in on the act.

“I understand and they know you don’t understand. I just think it’s disgusting that that bastard in real estate is saying what he did to you,” she said.

And it looks like the mama bear isn’t the only one having issues with Marty, as fans have noticed a potential feud brewing between him and veteran judge Darren Palmer.

In a Facebook fan group for the show, one viewer wrote, “Every time he spoke, Darren Glazed looked at the floor/different direction.”

Another agreed, replying, “He wriggled, didn’t he?” With (Neale) Whitaker out of the way, I think he thought it was time.”

There are mixed opinions from fans about newcomer Marty, with some saying he’s “smooth to the eye” while others think he’s too harsh.

While Neale is still on The Block’s new series, he’s taken a step back as newcomer Marty joined Shaynna Blaze and Darren as a semi-regular judge.
